Why Having a Career or Leadership Coach is a Game-Changer

I’ve worked with a coach for most of my career, starting before I was even a manager. And I can tell you this: it completely changed the trajectory of where I ended up.

Early on, my coach helped me set myself up for success in ways I didn’t even realize I needed at the time. Things like building credibility, learning how to advocate for myself, navigating workplace dynamics, and focusing on the right opportunities.

Because of that foundation, I moved up quickly. I was a director before I turned 30, making great money, holding a big title, and sitting at the leadership table years ahead of the typical career timeline.

And here’s the thing: I didn’t stop working with my coach once I “made it.” The same person coached me through one of the hardest moments in my career when my dream job disappeared overnight. They helped me think through my options, make tough calls, and rebuild in a way that felt aligned with what I wanted next.

I am so passionate about coaching because I live it myself. I have a career coach, a financial planner who is essentially a money coach, and a physical training coach. I truly believe you get better and faster results when you invest in people who know what they are doing and are excellent at what they do. We don’t have to be figuring this all out alone.

Here’s why I believe having a coach is one of the smartest investments you can make in your career or leadership journey

1. You Grow Faster
You avoid years of trial and error by having someone help you see the bigger picture and make intentional moves that actually get you where you want to go.

2. You Always Have Someone in Your Corner
From tricky conversations to big-picture career moves, a coach helps you think through problems, explore solutions, and take action with confidence.

3. You Learn to Speak Up for Yourself
One of the biggest skills I built was learning how to clearly communicate my value, ask for what I wanted, and back it up with results.

4. You Get Perspective You Can’t Get Alone
The best coaches have been through it. They have faced the challenges, navigated the politics, and know what works in the real world.

5. You Build Skills You’ll Use Forever
The strategies, frameworks, and confidence you develop stick with you long after the coaching sessions are over.

I would not be where I am today, running my own business and helping other leaders and professionals navigate their careers with clarity and confidence, without the support and perspective I got from having a coach in my corner.

If you are ready to move forward in your career with more clarity, confidence, and momentum, I would love to be that coach for you. I am excited, ready, and here to help you get to where you want to go faster and more effectively than you could on your own. Let’s get started.
