Now What? A Practical Guidebook for Navigating Your Career
New book offers practical guidance for professionals navigating career changes, workplace challenges, and the question of what comes next!
SAN DIEGO, CA — September 15, 2026 — Amanda Duff, M.S., SHRM-CP, leadership coach, HR consultant, and founder of Now What HR, today announces the release date of her first book, Now What? A Practical Guidebook for Navigating Your Career.
Written for professionals at all stages of their careers, Now What? addresses the questions and challenges that can arise throughout anyone’s career, from searching for a new job and navigating workplace relationships to considering a career change, stepping into leadership, and figuring out what comes next.
The book grew from Duff’s more than a decade of experience in HR leadership and her work coaching professionals through career and workplace decisions. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all formula for career success, Now What? provides practical guidance and questions to help readers better understand their options, make intentional decisions, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
“Throughout my career, I’ve had countless conversations with people who are asking some version of the same question: ‘Now what?’” said Duff. “Sometimes they know exactly what they want to change, and sometimes they just know that something isn’t working. I wanted to create a resource that people could turn to during those moments.”
Duff began her career as a tax accountant at EY before moving into human resources, where she held leadership roles including Senior Director of People Operations. Her experience includes building HR systems, supporting organizational growth and acquisitions, developing leaders, and helping professionals navigate complex workplace and career decisions. She later founded Now What HR, a consulting and coaching practice focused on helping individuals and organizations navigate professional transitions with clarity and confidence.
Duff holds a master’s degree in Human Resources and is SHRM-CP certified. In 2025, she was named Business Woman of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal in recognition of her leadership and impact in the business community.
